American Indian artist R.C. Gorman (1931-2005) has been called "the Picasso
of American Indian Art" for his oil pastels, drawings, lithographs and silk
screens that usually featuring Navajo women in flowing dresses. He also
made pottery pieces. After 1968, Gorman, who is also known for his
bronzes, was based in Taos, New Mexico, where he owned the R.C. Gorman
Navajo Gallery. Slightly rippled from mounting adhesive on verso. Mounting sheet
is slightly torn in lower left corner, with light show through of mounting paper
remnants. Otherwise, fine condition.
