RAFAEL CAMPOS, CO-SIGNED BY: SHIRLEY ABICAIR & BENNY LEE The three big screen and television actors sign their names on this 6½x4¾ sheet with photographs attached Inscribed photograph signed: "To Penelope/Sincerely/Rafael Campos", on verso: "Shirley Abicair", and “Benny Lee” in blue ink, 3½x5 b/w photograph affixed to a 6½x4¾ sheet. Newspaper clipping of Abicair affixed on verso next to signature. RAFAEL CAMPOS (1936-1985) was an actor of Dominican descent, first appearing in the 1955 drama Blackboard Jungle. Campos was spotted by the director of the film in a small library theatre production, and signed him onto the film shortly after. Mostly cast in generic Hispanic roles, Campos career spanned 30 plus years, appearing in several films including Trial (1955), The Appaloosa (1966), and Where The Buffalo Roam (1980), and numerous reoccurring roles on television, such as the role of Ramon Diaz, Jr. in Rhoda (1977). Sadly, Campos' career ended prematurely, succumbing to stomach cancer in 1985. Australian singer, musician, author and British TV personality SHIRLEY ABICAIR (b. 1930) made her first appearance on BBC-TV in 1953, and soon had her own program, singing, playing the zither and promoting Australia. While much of her music was aimed at children, for whom she also wrote a book, Abicair also released albums of folk and pop music. BENNY LEE (1916-1995) was Scottish actor and singer. He began with roles on the radio programs “Show Business” (1944), “Top Ten” (1944) and “Music from the Movies” (1946). He recorded a number of music singles and had appearances on television shows such as How Do You View?,, Friends and Neighbours, and It's a Square World. Bottom edge worn. Light surface creases.
