Autograph note signed: "To Billie/ Sincerely/ Ralph Bellamy"
in pencil. 1 page, 4½x6. RALPH BELLAMY (1904-1991) was
nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor for The Awful Truth
(1937). He won a Best Actor Tony for Sunrise at Campobello (1958),
reprising his role as Franklin D. Roosevelt in the film version two years later.
(He portrayed Franklin Roosevelt again in the TV miniseries The Winds of
War (1983). In 1986, Bellamy received an honorary Oscar "for his
unique artistry and his distinguished service to the profession of acting." From
the album collection of child actor BILLY SEAY (1922-2012), who appeared
in many films throughout the decade including The Greater Glory
(1926), My Man (1928), and The Marriage Playground
(1929). Seay would leave Hollywood in the early 1930s to become a noted
artist and illustrator. Toned and slightly soiled. Light surface creases.
