Typed Letter signed: "Ralph Bellamy", 1 page, 6x8¼. No place, 1976 April 24. To "Dear Dr. Braude", in full: "Thank you so much for your kind and flattering letter. There's nothing much in print about me in one binding, except perhaps Who's Who. I've been working on a book for about a year, but it won't be ready for another year or two. It's not an autobiography, but rather impressions and anecdotes from my beginnings in Chicago until the present. I wish you health and a pleasant life for many years to come. Sincerely". Ralph Bellamy (1904-1991) was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor for The Awful Truth (1937). He won a Best Actor Tony for Sunrise at Campobello (1958), reprising his role as FDR in the film version two years later. (He portrayed Franklin Roosevelt again in the TV miniseries The Winds of War (1983). In 1986, Bellamy received an honorary Oscar "for his unique artistry and his distinguished service to the profession of acting." 2 horizontal fold creases. Lightly toned around edges.
