Picture post card signed: "Congratulations!!!/ Randall/ Franks" in red ink. 5½x3½ postcard featuring printed photo of Franks in left margin, captioned: "In the Heat of the Night/ Star/ Randall Franks/ "Officer Randy"". Multitalented actor/singer/musician Randall Franks made his TV debut as Officer Randy Goode in the hit TV series, In The Heat of the Night, in 1988. He remained with the series, which starred Carroll O'Connor, until 1993, and later played another "Officer Randy", Officer Randy Kraft, in the 2001 TV movie, The Flamingo Rising. His other TV credits include the made-for-TV movies, Desperate for Love (1989) and Blue Valley Songbird (1999), and he produced, directed, wrote and composed for the 2001 PBS documentary, Still Ramblin, which he also hosted. Franks, also an award-winning singer and musician, has been called the "Appalachian Ambassador of the Fiddle" and is one of the stars of Bluegrass music. The champion fiddler has also played the mandolin, guitar and mountain dulcimer in his concerts and on his recordings, which are popular around the world. His talents have been recognized with The Fiddlin' John Carson Award, A.S.E. Male Vocalist of the Year, The Cotton Carrier Award and the S.A.R. Citizenship Award, and Franks, who began yet another career in journalism in 2000, has already been honored for his writing. Toned. Corners rounded. Ink stamp on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
