Inscribed Photograph signed: "To Adrian/All the best/Ray Anthony", B/w 8x10, Caption at lower edge. Trumpeter/bandleader Ray Anthony played for Glenn Miller and Jimmy Dorsey before leading the U.S. Army band during WWII. In 1946, he formed his own band, and went on to record for Capitol Records for 19 years as well as appear in two TV shows and several feature films, including 1959's The Five Pennies, in which Anthony played his former boss, Jimmy Dorsey. Anthony, who wrote "The Bunny Hop" and had hits with the themes from Dragnet and Peter Gunn, was once married to actress Mamie Van Doren. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
