RAY BOLGER - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 01/30/1980 - HFSID 218239
Price: $1,400.00
THE WIZARD OF OZ: RAY BOLGER
The Scarecrow writes about Dorothy and the Tin Man.
ALS: "Ray Bolger" 1p, 7¼x10½. Beverly Hills, 1980 January 30.
To Robert Tom. In full: "I think it is terrible that your pictures
signed by my late friend Jack Haley have gone astray. I am sure that if they
reached me I would have signed them and mailed them back to you. I wouldn't
dream of not doing the above knowing how valuable such an autograph is and how
much sentimental value it has. Working with Judy Garland was one fond memory.
She became my friend for life, even through all her troubles. I hope the
enclosed can make up in some way your loss. Shame on the P.O. P.S. This is the
second time some one has lost picture. Both times. Please let me know if you
receive this!" In 1939's The Wizard of Oz, RAY BOLGER (1904-1987)
was the Scarecrow, Jack Haley was the Tin Man and Judy Garland was Dorothy.
