Caption at upper right corner mentions his best seller, Fahrenheit 451.Bradbury wrote the complete manuscript for Fahrenheit 451 (published in 1953 and later made into a feature film) on a rented typewriter in a public library. The novel was first published in serialized form in "Playboy" magazine. Ray Bradbury (1920-2012) is the favorite science fiction writer of many readers who don't normally like sci-fi. Among his classic novels, all of which were made into films, are The Martian Chronicles (1950), The Illustrated Man (1951) and Something Wicked This Way Comes (1962). His Ray Bradbury Theater ran on TV from 1985 to 1992. The Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated writer won the Science Fiction Writers Association's Grand Master Award (1988) and the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters (2000).
