His short story collection, One More for the Road, inscribed on the flyleaf
Book inscribed and signed: "1-1-09/Joseph!/Mad/Love!/Ray Bradbury", 5¾x8½, 291 pages. One More for the Road: A New Story Collection, by Ray Bradbury. NY: Harper Collins, 2001. Hard cover with paper dust jacket. Ray Bradbury (1920-2012) is the favorite science fiction writer of many readers who don't normally like SF. Among his classic novels - all these became films - are The Martian Chronicles (1950), The Illustrated Man (1951), Fahrenheit 451 (1953) and Something Wicked This Way Comes (1962). His Ray Bradbury Theater ran on TV from 1985 to 1992. The Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated writer won the Science Fiction Writers Association's Grand Master Award (1988) and the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters (2000). One More for the Road contains 25 short stories - 17 of them never published before - and an afterward by the author. Some of the reviewers of this book assumed that it would be the last one published by the then 81-year old Bradbury, but it was not. He has published another novel, a play, and many more short stories since. Edges of dust jacket lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
