career signed this trading card
Trading Card Signed: “Ray Mathews”. 2½x3½ trading card. Features a short biography and
statistical profile. Ray Mathews (1929-2015) enjoyed a nine-year career with the
Steelers, although he spent an additional season with the Dallas Cowboys. He played from
1951-1960. The wide receiver out of Clemson University was drafted in the 7th round, 81st
overall, of the 1951 NFL draft. For the first half of his career, Mathews was used
predominantly as a running back, but by 1956 he had transitioned to wide receiver. A
two-time Pro-Bowler, Mathews made 230 receptions for 3963 yards and 34
touchdowns. He rushed for another 1057 yards! Born in Dayton, Pennsylvania, Mathews'
hometown team was the Pittsburgh Steelers; Dayton is just a 90-minute drive away from the
Steel City. Fine condition.
