Photograph signed: "Ray Robbins" in black ink. B/w, 8x10. Big
band musician Ray Robbins is best remembered for his work in Chuck
Foster's Orchestra throughout the 1940s playing the trumpet and as a supporting
vocalist. During WWII when Foster was drafted into military service, it was
Robbins who took over the band until his return, and he used this experience
to form his own Ray Robbins Orchestra which performed in the early 1950s.
Paper affixed on verso. Pencil notes on verso in unknown hand. Corners rounded.
