Three bars of music signed with "Sincere good wishes" by conductor and big band leader Ray Sinatra. Also signed with a handwritten note in 1951 by composer Wayne Shanklin.
Autograph musical quotation signed "Sincere good wish George" in blue pencil. Also with autorgraph note on verso signed "Wayne Shanklin". Red pencil marks in unknown hand. 2 pages, 7¾x6, 1 sheet, front and verso. With 1¾x2 b/w magazine photo affixed. Sinatra signed this sheet with three meaures of music. Shanklin's note: "Nov. 12/51 To George - Who recognized 'Jezebel' when no one else would her a tumble - I hope you like my latest - 'Why Am I Crying" Your's [sic]". Second cousin to Frank Sinatra, although he never worked with his famous relative, RAY SINATRA (1904-1980, born Raymond Dominic Sinatra in Italy) was an orchestra conductor and arranger on Mario Lanza's radio show and for two well-known Mary Martin songs: Our Love (1939) and her 1940 version of My Heart Belongs to Daddy. He also led his own band starting in 1944. Performer, composer, arranger and producer WAYNESHANKLIN (1916-1970) had his biggest hit with Jezebel, which was recorded by Frankie Laine. Shanklin's other hits include Chanson d'Amour and Primrose Lane. His songs have been featured in a number of films, including I, Madman (1989), Primary Colors (1998), Final Rinse (1999) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Lightly toned and creased. Show-through from both sides touches signatures. Neatly torn from guestbook at left edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
