SUGAR RAY LEONARD
His controversial memoir, The Big Fight, signed on the title page
Book signed: "Sugary Ray Leonard/[drawn smiley face]", 6½x9½ 303 pages. The Big Fight: My Life In and Out of the Ring, by Sugar Ray Leonard with Michael Arkush. London: Penguin Group, 2011. Hardcover with dust jacket. Ray Charles "Sugar Ray" Leonard (born in 1956, and named for his mother's favorite singer) held the World Welterweight, Jr. Welterweight, Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Super Middleweight titles in the 1980s, with a lifetime record of 36-3-1 (25 knockouts). After beating formidable opponents like Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler, Leonard retired for good in 1997. He was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame later that year. The Big Fight is what critics like to call an "unflinching" account of Leonard's personal life as well as his boxing career. His candid comments about other ring figures have elicited rebuttals from some. Fine condition.
