Autograph note on calling card signed: "TH" in French, 4x2½
calling card. No place. Imprinted: "Le Contre Amiral
Halligan/Commandant en Chef la D'on Navale des Antilles./A Bord de la
'Magicienne'."Halligon visited New York City in November-December, 1881.
Admiral T. Halligon was the Commander in Chief of the West India Naval
station. He was an invited guest from the French military to participate in
the Yorktown Centennial celebration in 1881. General WINFIELD S. HANCOCK
was commander of the Division of the Atlantic and Department of the East
from 1872 until his death in 1886 at his headquarters on Governors Island in
New York harbor. Toned. Bottom right corner slightly creased.Otherwise,
fine condition.
