Autograph Letter signed: "Rebecca Luker", 5½x8½. No place, 2003 December 6. On letterhead of The Music Man musical to "Dear Stephen", in full: "Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you were able to see NINE - as we close in about a week. Oh, well. Have a happy holiday. Best". Rebecca Luker (b. 1961) is an accomplished American singer (soprano), performer, and actress. As an actress, Luker made her debut in 1988 when she performed in the popular original drama The Phantom of the Opera. Since then, she has appeared in seven more Broadway productions including Show Boat (1994-1997), The Music Man (2000-2001), and Mary Poppins (2006-2013), earning herself three Tony Award nominations and two Drama Desk Award nominations. She has also appeared in eight onscreen roles including a 2010 episode of the television series The Good Wife and as Sister Agnes in the hit HBO series Boardwalk Empire (2012). As a vocalist, Luker has recorded three solo pieces: Greenwich Time (2009), Leaving Home (2004), and Anything Goes: Rebecca Luker Sings Cole Porter (1996). Luker's voice can also be heard in over fifty cast and feature recordings including Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997), A Little Bit in Love (1999), and State of Grace III (2006). In 2001, Luker was inducted into the Alabama Stage and Screen Hall of Fame. She is currently married to fellow actor Danny Burnstein. Luker replaced Laura Benanti in the starring role of "Claudia" in the musical Nine on September 2, 2003. As she predicts here, the show closed on December 14, but that still afforded her the chance to play opposite veteran stars like Antonio Banderas and Chita Rivera, who remained with the show until October 5. Fine condition.
