REBEL RANDALL
The pin-up, actress and Armed Forces Radio DJ pens a letter to a new fan club member on the back of her postcard photo. A rare signature!
Autograph Letter signed: "Rebel Randall", 5½x3½. Written on verso of a postcard photograph of her. Los Angeles, California, 1950 July 14. Addressed in her hand to "Rebel L. J. Sceiri Owen/71 Naxxar Road/B'Kara/Malta". In full: "Dear Rebel Owen - Thank you for your lovely letter and welcome to the Rebels! You will receive your 'Rebelette' around September 1st. In the meantime - Love to you!". Rebel Randall (1921-2010) was the professional name of Alaine Brandes (billed with her birth name in her early films). A model and World War II pin-up, Randall was also "the Coca Cola Girl." She appeared in over 50 movies, but mostly in small roles. Her biggest success came in the 1950s, when she became Hollywood's only female DJ, carried worldwide on Armed Forces Radio. She was called "Miss Double Distilled Honey" and "the Girl Whose Voice Could Make Icebergs Melt." Randall made frequent tabloid headlines with her stormy marriages. Lightly creased. Slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
