RED AUERBACH CO-SIGNED BY: JOHN FEINSTEIN
His book, Let Me Tell You A Story, signed on the half title page by the legendary Boston Celtics coach and his co-writer.
Book signed: "Regards/Red Auerbach" and "Best wishes,/John Feinstein", 6½x9½ 347 pages. Let Me Tell You A Story by Red Auerbach, and John Feinstein. New York: Time Warner book group, 2004. First Edition. Hardcover and Dust Jacket. Red Auerbach (1917-2006) was the third winningest coach (regular season and playoffs) in NBA history. He won 1,037 games in 20 years. As Coach-GM, Auerbach led the Boston Celtics to nine NBA titles, including eight in a row (1959-1966). The NBA Coach of the Year award is named after him. Auerbach remained Celtics General Manager (1967-1984) and President (1984-2006). As GM he assembled two more dynasties: the two-time champion team of the early and mid-1970s, and the three-time champions of the early 1980s led by Byrd, Parrish and McHale. Auerbach was an integration pioneer, recruiting the first black player (1950) and the first all-black starting lineup (1964). Celtics fans knew a game was won when Red lighted one of his famous "victory cigars." He was enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1967. Sportswriter and author John Feinstein (Born in 1956) co-wrote this book with Auerbach. He is best known for writing two bestselling sports books, one on golf, A Good Walk Spoiled (1996), and another about Indiana University's 1985-1986 men's basketball team, A Season on the Brink (1989). He also worked as a columnist for The Washington Post and The Sporting News. Fine condition.
