Photograph signed: "'Red'/Grange", B/w 5x7, In three years as an All-American at the University of Illinois, Red Grange (1903-1991) gained 3,637 yards in 20 games and scored 31 touchdowns. In a game against Michigan, "the galloping ghost" scored four touchdowns on four runs in the first 12 minutes of play. He went on to a pro football career as player (1925, 1929-1934) and Assistant Coach (1935-1937) with the Chicago Bears, bringing the first huge crowds to pro football when he joined the Bears on Thanksgiving Day, 1925. Grange is a member of both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. 3¼x4¼ color photo of Grange affixed to verso. Slightly worn. Irregulalry cut edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
