A postcard featuring the pitcher's Hall of Fame plaque, signed in
blue ink
Baseball Hall of Fame Plaque Postcard signed: "Red Ruffing".
Color, 3½x5½. After suffering through a 39-96 mark with the Red Sox, the career
of Charles Herbert "Red" Ruffing (1905-1986) blossomed when he was traded
to the Yankees in 1930. An instrumental part of seven pennant winners,
Ruffing won seven of nine World Series decisions. His 273 career
victories include a four-year stretch (1936-1939) when he won at least 20 games
per season. Ruffing was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in
1967. Signature beaded and faded, but legible. Corners lightly worn and
creased. Fine condition.
