On his lettered head as coach of football, to "Dear Eddie", in
full: "Thanks very much for your letter. Enclosed is a program of the
Syracuse University--Penn State football game, which contains photographs of the
coaches and squad, I hope this is of interest to you. Thanks again for your kind
wishes, and if you should happen to be in the vicinity where we are playing, I
hope you will give us an opportunity to have you as a guest at the game.
Sincerely yours,". Reaves H. Baysinger (1902-1994) served as head
coach of the Syracuse University football team from 1947-1948. Taking over
after Munn abandoned the position at the end of the 1946-1947 season, Coach
Baysinger did not achieve the impressive record hoped of him and his squad,
going just 4-14. Baysinger was considered for the job based on his years playing
and coaching basketball, football and baseball. He also was an All-American
football guard for Syracuse. Normal mailing folds. Slightly creased. Light
adhesive residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
