Regis Philbin (1931-2020) was the multiple Emmy-winning co-host of a popular day-time
television show. His long-time co-host Kathy Lee Gifford, was replaced by Kelly Ripa in
2001, and Philbin himself ended his 23 years with the show at the end of 2011. The former
news anchor first worked in television as a page for the Tonight Show, then as a regional
newscaster in southern California. He was a sportscaster in San Diego before gaining national
exposure on The Joey Bishop Show (1967-69) where he was featured regularly as the butt of
Joey's jokes. From 1999 to 2002, Philbin hosted television game-show phenomenon Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire? He holds the Guinness World Record for most hours in front
of a TV camera (15,188). Fine condition.
