REMEMBER THE NIGHT MOVIE CAST: BARBARA STANWYCK and FRED MacMURRAY
Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray inscribed a black and white scene from their 1940 Remember the Night film.
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To/George/Best wishes,/Barbara Stanwyck" and "To George -/All good/wishes/Fred Mac/Murray". B/w, 10x8. Calendar fragment, unknown year, printed on verso contains landmark dates in movie history for November 1-24. Scene from the 1940 film. The pair also co-starred in another good movie, There's Always Tomorrow (1956), and a great one, Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity (1944). Orphaned at four and a Ziegfield chorus girl at 15, STANWYCK (1907-1990) was a Broadway star by the late 1920s. Moving to Hollywood after 1930, she was often cast as a tough-minded working girl who rarely had a happy ending. She received Oscar nominations for Stella Dallas (1937), Ball of Fire (1941), Double Indemnity (1944) and Sorry, Wrong Number (1948). Stanwyck earned renewed popularity on television, especially as the star of the Western series Big Valley (1965-1969). MacMURRAY (1908-1991) starred in comedies, dramas and musicals. Among his memorable films were True Confession (1937), Double Indemnity (1944) and The Caine Mutiny (1954). He starred as widower Steven Douglas raising My Three Sons from 1960-1972. Among his Disney films were The Shaggy Dog (1959), The Absent-Minded Professor (1961) and Son of Flubber (1963). Fine condition.
