The Hill Street Blues actor pens a letter to the American Museum of Historical
Documents in blue ink
Autograph Letter signed: "René Enriquez", in blue ink, 7¼x10½. Los Angeles, 29 September
1984. Written on his personal letterhead. To "Gentlemen". In full: "I am honored to be included
in your collection of important celebrities!/ Enclosed are autographed photos, and a cover of a Hill
St. Blues script. - / With God's blessings, I remain/ A friend of the Museum, Love". René
Enríquez (1933-1990) was an actor who landed roles in a considerable number of TV
shows and films including guest spots on Charlie's Angels (1976-1981) and Naked City
(1958-1963), in addition to more prominent parts in Bananas (1971), Under Fire (1983), and
Bulletproof (1988). He might be best remembered for his portrayal of Lieutenant Ray
Calletano on the popular television series Hill Street Blues, which ran from 1981 to 1987.
After moving to San Francisco from his native Nicaragua, Enriquez attended both the
University of San Francisco, as well as San Francisco City College. He also served in the U.S.
Air Force during the Korean War before pursuing acting. Fine condition.
