RENÉE TAYLOR. DS: "Renee Taylor" as Performer, 8 p, 8½x11. New York, 1961 February 28. Contract between Roncom Productions, Inc. and Taylor for her appearance on Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall. Headed: "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract for Single Television Broadcast and for Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week". Taylor agrees to appear as a "Guest Artist" on Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall on a program to be taped on March 3, 1961 and aired on March 8, 1961. Her compensation of "Scale over 5 lines" to be sent to Gloria Safier, New York, N.Y. Also signed: "Harvey B Sindle" as Assistant Secretary for Roncom Productions, Inc. Actress, screenwriter and director Renée Taylor (born Renee Wexler in 1933) first gained national attention on the late-night Jack Paar Program (1959-1962) and made her film debut in 1961 in The Errand Boy. In 1965, she married actor Joseph Bologna, with whom she wrote a number of scripts, including the Broadway hit comedy, Lovers and Other Strangers (the couple was nominated for Academy Awards for the 1970 film adaptation), Made for Each Other (1971) and Bermuda Avenue Triangle (1997). The couple, who won Emmy Awards for their 1973 TV special, Acts of Love and Other Comedies, also directed and co-starred in It Had to be You (1989, adapted from their play). Taylor's other feature film credits include The Producers (1968), Last of the Red Hot Lovers (1972), All I Want for Christmas (1991) and National Lampoon's Lady Killers (2003).
