Joyce (1917-2004) was a priest and reverend who served as the chief financial officer and Executive Vice President Emeritus at the University of Notre Dame for 35 years. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1949 and soon after was named Assistant Vice President for business affairs at Notre Dame. The priest was hugely influential in the formation of the College Football Association. Earning honorary degrees at several reputable universities and colleges, Rev. Joyce has three endowed chairs established in his name at Notre Dame and the University's Athletic and Convocation Center is named in his honor. Small 2" tear on upper left side, not affecting the signature. Slight creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
