of The First Presbyterian Church to Theron C. Liddle, Deseret News, Salt Lake
City, Utah. In full: "I shall be happy to have you use the quotation
which is included in the letter from you which I have signed. At this point I
haven't the slightest idea where you might have found the quote from me, whether
it is from my Chicago Tribune syndicate column or from one of my books. In any
case, use it with my blessings. With every good wish, I am, Very Sincerely
yours." Reverend Walker (1904-2002) dispensed religiously inspired
practical wisdom in a nationally syndicated newspaper column and in a several
books, including Power to Manage Yourself (1955) and Venture and
Faith: a Guide to Marriage and the Home (with his wife Mary Alice, 1959).
Walker promoted racial integration and the establishment of a
multi-denominational National Church Center in Washington, D.C. Light
