Program for a production of John Guare's play Rich and Famous at the Joseph Papp Theatre in the Park. John Guare wrote the music and book for Rich and Famous. The other three signers were the entire cast: Atherton as "Bing Ringling", with Leibman and Gillette playing all the male and female parts, respectively. Playwright, composer and lyricist JOHN GUARE (b. 1938) won an Obie for Best Original Play in 1971 for The House of Blue Leaves. He won a Drama Critics Award for his musical adaptation of Two Gentlemen of Verona, and that honor plus another Obie for Six Degrees of Separation (1990-1991). WILLIAM ATHERTON (b. 1947) won Theatre World and Drama Desk Awards for Suggs (1972). He had also created the starring role in Guare's The House of Blue Leaves. His starring film roles include The Sugarland Express, Day of the Locust, The Hindenberg and Looking for Mr. Goodbar. He played TV reporter Dick Thornburg in the first two Die Hard movies. RON LEIBMAN (b. 1937) won a Best Actor Tony for Angels in America: the Millenium Approaches (1993) and an Obie for The Merchant of Venice (1994-1995). His feature films include Slaughterhouse Five and Zorro: the Gay Blade. His recurring TV roles include, most recently, Ron Cadillac on Archer (2012). He has been married to actresses Linda Lavin, and since 1983, Jessica Walter. ANITA GILLETTE (b. 1936) received a Tony nomination for Chapter Two (1978). Her many TV appearances include recurring roles on such series as Bob & Carol, Ted & Alice, Love, American Style and CSI. She played the title character's spouse on Quincy, M. E. In 2012 she was nominated for the Lucille Lortel award for excellence in her off-Broadway theatre career. Lightly toned. Staples at left edge on binding. Otherwise, fine condition.
