First Day Cover signed: "Richard Anderson/2003", 6½x3½. FDC celebrating Christmas,
10-cent stamp affixed, postmarked New York, N.Y., October 23, 1974, FIRST DAY OF
ISSUE. After a film debut with a bit part in Twelve O'Clock High (1949), Anderson
(1926-2017) became a contract actor for MGM. He appeared in many 1950s films, including
Forbidden Planet (1956), Paths of Glory (1957) and The Long Hot Summer (1958). His
film roles were less frequent thereafter, but he found new success in television, starring as the
same character, Oscar Goldman, in two popular series: The Six Million Dollar Man -98
episodes (1974-1978) and The Bionic Woman - 57 episodes (1976-1978). Other TV credits
range from The Fugitive (1964-1967), Big Valley (1966-1969), Dan August (1970-1971),
and finally 82 episodes of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1993-1997). Over his 50 year
career, Anderson amassed more than 200 credits. Lightly creased. Fine condition.
