Richard Barthelmess (1895-1963) quit films to join the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1942, the year his last film, The Mayor of 44th St. was released, and never returned to Hollywood, retiring from acting. He had first starred in silent movies and was nominated for the first Academy Award for Best Actor for 1927-1928 for his performances in two films, The Noose and The Patent Leather Kid. Lightly creased. Overall, fine condition.
