Program signed "Richard/Carlson" in blue ink on title page. B/w, 20 pages including covers, 6x9, bound with 2 staples. Program for Graham Greene's The Complaisant Lover from the Sombrero Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona for the week beginning on March 13, 1962. Carlson starred as Clive Root opposite Walter Pidgeon and Martha Scott in this production. Carlson (1912-1977) was a familiar face to television viewers. He had frequent roles in 50s and 60s TV, including such Westerns as Bonanza, Rawhide and The Virginian. Carlson also starred as Herbert A. Philbrick, a real-life Boston ad executive who joined the American Communist Party while serving as an undercover FBI agent, in the popular TV series I Led Three Lives (1953-1956). He worked off camera, as well, writing and directing for TV and film and as a Broadway actor and playwright. Carlson showed up in a number of B movies in the 1950s and 1960s; Mystery Science Theatre 3000 fans may recognize him from 1960's Tormented. Lightly toned. Worn spine. Otherwise in fine condition.
