RICHARD CRENNA
Military-style desert camouflage outfit designed for actor Richard Crenna's Col. Trautman in Rambo III (1988), intentionally soiled for use in the action movie
Ephemera unsigned. Costume was designed for Crenna's character Col. Trautman in Rambo III (1988). It includes a khaki-colored cotton cargo jacket, a khaki-colored poly-cotton blend military dress shirt, an olive green cotton t-shirt, a pair of cotton camouflage cargo pants with a handwritten notation in black felt tip on the lining reading "Crenna #1, a duplicate pair of cargo pants, and a tan wool cap with a handwritten "#1" in the lining. These items are all intentionally distressed. Trautman spent most of Rambo III in the wilds of Afghanistan without a change of clothes. Crenna (1927-2003), born Richard Donald Crenna, starred in two early TV sitcoms, Our Miss Brooks (1952-1956) and The Real McCoys (1957-1963). A frequent TV guest star and guest director, he was most recently a recurring guest star on Judging Amy (2000-2002). His most highly regarded film performances include The Sand Pebbles (1966), Body Heat (1981) and The Flamingo Kid (1985). Although Crenna turned in many fine performances, he earned a "Razzie" for his portrayal of Trautman in this film.
