In full: "I am glad that I can give some small pleasure, even without
reason." British novelist Richard Doddridge Blackmore (1825-1900),
who is best known for his 1869 novel, Lorna Doone, was one of the
most famous novelists of his generation. His works and his influence on British
literary style were celebrated in both Britain and in the U.S., although most of
his books, save Lorna Doone, are now out of print. Lightly creased with
fold, not at signature. Slightly soiled and shaded. Overall, fine
condition.
