In full: "So many viewers were kind enough to write or telegraph about
the televising of the General Election that I am afraid it is physically
impossible for me to reply individually. My colleagues and I hope that you will
accept this acknowledgement of your thoughtful message which has been very much
appreciated". Richard Dimbleby (1913-1965) was an English broadcaster
and journalist, and was often considered the "Voice of the BBC".

Times, he eventually joined BBC as a radio news reporter in 1936,

raids, and was the first to report of the Belsen concentration camp
liberation in 1945. After the war, Dimbleby became one of BBC television's
leading news commentators, and is best remembered for commentating on
historical events such as Elizabeth II's coronation, JFK's funeral, and Winston
Churchill's funeral. Surface creases. Corners lightly worn and creased.
