Clipped signature: "Richard F. Harless", 4x1½. Richard
Fielding Harless (1905-1970) was an American politician and U.S.
Representative, serving the state of Arizona from 1943 to 1949. Originally
from Kelsey Texas, Harless moved to Arizona in 1917, graduating from University
of Arizona in 1928 and later earning a law degree there in 1933. In Phoenix he
served as Assistant City Attorney and was elected Assistant Attorney General in
1936. He was the Maricopa County Attorney from 1938 to 1942. Lightly
toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
