RICHARD FLEISCHER. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Betty

animator Max Fleischer (Popeye, Betty Boop), Richard Fleischer (1916-2006),
who won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for Design for
Death (1947), later directed such films as 20,000 Leagues Under the
Sea (1954), The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing (1955), Fantastic
Voyage (1966), Dr. Dolittle (1967), The Boston Strangler
(1968), Che! (1969), Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970), The New
Centurions (1972), Soylent Green (1973), Mr. Majestyk (1974),
Mandingo (1975), Ashanti (1979), The Jazz Singer (1980),
Amityville 3-D (1983) and Conan the Destroyer (1984). Fleischer,
who was the licensee of his dad's cartoon creation, Betty Boop, published
his autobiography, Just Tell Me When to Cry, in 1994. Slightly creased at
upper corners and background. Minor surface creases (most not evident head on),
none at writing or facial image. Fine condition.
