His handwritten note to autograph collector Elsie Myrus, wife of the famed mentalist
Autograph Note signed: "To Elsie -/with best wishes -/Richard Greene" , 4½x6 album leaf. Dashing British leading man Richard Greene (1918-1985) starred in films from 1938, including Kentucky (1938), Don't Take it to Heart (1944), Forever Amber (1947) and Lorna Doone (1951). He played the title role in the long-running British TV series, The Adventures of Robin Hood, and in a feature film. Harry Carp, who employed the stage name of Myrus, was a renowned "mentalist" with a remarkable gift for answering questions posed by members of the audience. His wife, Melba Merriam, who went by Elsie Myrus when acting as his assistant, collected autographs from celebrities attending his performances. This autograph was part of her collection. Binding holes at left edge. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
