Photograph signed "Richard/Harris". B/w, 10x7¾. According to a label pasted on verso, this is a publicity photo from Avco Embassy Pictures Corp. for The Cassandra Crossing (1976). Harris (1932-2002, born in Limerick, Ireland) found success on the stage and screen and had a hit record with Jimmy Webb's MacArthur Park. Nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award in 1963 (The Sporting Life) and 1990 (The Field), Harris' other films include The Guns of Navarone (1961), Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), Major Dundee (1965), A Man Called Horse (1970), Robin and Marian (1976), Patriot Games and Unforgiven (1992), Gladiator (2000) and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). He died on October 25, 2002, the month before he would be seen again as Professor Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Lightly toned, creased and bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
