Promoting the 1967 musical, Camelot, which starred Harris as King Arthur (Harris won a Golden Globe for the role). The film, which won Academy Awards for Best Score, Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design, also starred Vanessa Redgrave, Franco Nero, David Hemings and Lionel Jeffries. Harris had replaced Richard Burton in a theatrical revival of Lerner and Lowe's musical before reprising his role as King Arthur in this 1967 film version. Actor Richard Harris (1932-2002), a native of Limerick, Ireland, found success on the stage and screen and had a hit record with Jimmy Webb's "MacArthur Park". Nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award in 1963 (The Sporting Life) and 1990 (The Field), Harris' other films include The Guns of Navarone (1961), Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), Major Dundee (1965), A Man Called Horse (1970), Robin and Marian (1976), Patriot Games and Unforgiven (1992), Gladiator (2000) and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). He died on October 25, 2002, the month before he would be seen again as Professor Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Lightly creased at corners and upper left background.
