Autograph Letter signed: "Richard Herd" 1p, 5½x8½. No place, 1984 July 30. On his personal
stationary, written to "Mr. Axelrod". In full: "My most satisfying film Role to date was Mike
Monahan in F.I.S.T. On stage I've enjoyed playing Sir Andrew A- in 'Twelfth Night' and
Smiley Coy in Odets' 'The Big Knife'… However, my most enjoyable roles are yet to come-! Best
Wishes-". Richard Herd (1932-2020) made his feature film debut as a corrupt utilities
magnate in The China Syndrome (1979). He was cast as Captain Sheridan on the police
drama T.J. Hooker (1982-1985). Moreover, he has been seen in many science fiction shows,
including the Visitors' Supreme Commander in V and its sequel (1983-1984), and portrayed
admirals on both SeaQuest DSV and Star Trek: Voyager. A few of his other interesting roles
have included General Groves on Enola Gay (TV miniseries, 1980) and J. Howard
Marshall, the rich elderly husband of Anna Nicole Smith in the biopic Anna Nicole
(2009). More recently, Herd played a judge on a 2012 episode of CSI: Miami. Slightly
creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
