Envelope commemorating the Treaty of Paris, December 8, 1983, Worthington, Ohio, 20-cent U.S. stamp affixed. U.S. Navy ace Richard L. Bertelson (1923-2015) had five "kills" while serving with the VF-29 during WWII, including three in one day. He flew a Hellcat fighter on 88 combat missions from the carrier U.S.S. Cabot, winning two Distinguished Flying Crosses and three Air Medals. Lightly worn. Pencil notes (unknown hand) not affecting signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
