Newspaper Photograph Signed: “Richard Martin” in blue felt tip. 4¾x6¾. Beginning his professional career in 1971, Richard Martin (1951-2011) was a Canadian hockey player who played in the NHL for eleven seasons, nine of which were with the Buffalo Sabres, and the two with the Los Angeles Kings. During his years on the Sabres, Martin played in seven All-Star games between 1972 and 1978. He is most known for being part of the French Connection Line with Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert, the famous defensive line on the Buffalo Sabres. In 2011, he suffered a heart attack and died at the age of 59. In the NHL, Martin played 685 games, scoring 384 goals and aiding in 317 assists. Mounted on 5x7 paperboard. Toned. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
