Jackson, Mississippi, 1968 November 11. On letterhead of the "Bishop's
Residence" to Danny Franklin, Sunnyslope, Arizona. In full: "Some time
ago your letter addressed to me in Natchez was forwarded to me in Jackson
where I now live. So I now write to you to express to you my good wishes and
to say to you may God bless you! With every best wish, I am Sincerely yours in
Christ". Richard Oliver Gerow (1885-1976), who had been ordained a
Priest in 1909, was appointed Bishop of Natchez, Mississippi in
1924. At his retirement in 1967, the year before he signed this letter, he was
Bishop of Natchez-Jackson. From 1967-1971, Gerow was the Titular
Bishop of Vageata. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Fine
condition.
