RICHARD WIDMARK
Signed b/w movie still from Die Braut des Satans (To The Devil, A Daughter) of Widmark in a suit-and-tie and choking a man
Photograph signed "Richard Widmark" in green ink. B/w, 10x8. Still from the 1976 film, Die Braut des Satans (To The Devil, A Daughter), which starred Widmark as John Verney. That year, Widmark was also seen on the big screen in The Sell-Out. Originally a popular radio actor, Widmark (1914-2008, born in Sunrise, Minnesota) moved to films in 1947, first in villainous roles and later as a leading man. He was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his debut film, The Kiss of Death (1947), and the N.Y. Film Critics Circle named him Best Actor for The Bedford Incident (1965). A latecomer to TV, Widmark reprised the detective character Madigan (1972-1973) from an earlier movie. His daughter, Anne Heath Widmark, whose mother was Widmark's first wife, Jean Hazelwood, married legendary baseball player Sandy Koufax in 1969. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Minor surface creases (not evident head on), one at Widmark's cheek. Light black mark at lower left margin. Otherwise in fine condition.
