Sale Price $1,020.00
His career took off after his Woodstock performance.
Guitar signed: "a friend/forever/Richie/Havens". Wood-finish, six-string acoustic guitar, signed in silver ink on black pick guard. Richie Havens arrived in Greenwich Village in 1961, and was immediately recognized as a talent in the emerging folk music craze. He didn't have a hit album until his fourth one (Something Else Again, 1968), but then his earlier albums also became hot sellers. His appearance at the Woodstock festival and film in 1969 boosted his career further. Havens 26th album, Grace of the Sun, was released in 2004. His hits include his own compositions, like "Freedom", and popular renditions of songs by the Beatles ("Here Comes the Sun"), Dylan ("Just Like a Woman") and others. Havens is magnetic in live performance. Fine condition. Authenticated by Roger Epperson.
