RICK(Y) NELSON
Television's first teenage heartthrob signs a black and white picture postcard.
Postcard Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Irene/Yours,/Rick Nelson". B/w, 3½x5½ overall, image 3½x4¾ (one surface). German postcard dated April 1963 on verso in unknown hand. Television's longest-running situation comedy, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, aired on ABC from 1952-1966. It starred Ozzie Nelson (creator, director, and co-writer), his wife Harriet and their sons David and RICKY NELSON. Ricky first sang on the April 10, 1957 episode of the show when he was 17, and thereafter performed regularly on the series. He released his first record, "A Teenager's Romance"/"I'm Walkin'", in April 1957, launching his recording career. In the 1960s, Ricky, who changed his name to a more grownup "Rick", found success on the nightclub circuit and remained a hard-working performer, playing up to 200 dates a year. In 1985, he was killed in an airplane crash on New Year's Eve. Fine condition.
