RICK SPRINGFIELD
Color publicity photo of Springfield in a leather jacket and playing a guitar
Photograph signed "thanx!/Rick Springfield". With black ink notations on verso in unknown hand. Color, 6¾x9 image, 7¼x9½ overall, one surface. ©1982 Ron's Band Corp. Springfield, born Richard Lewis Springthorpe in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1949, has seven Top Ten singles, including the 1981 No. 1 hit Jessie's Girl, which earned him a Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. A military brat, he formed his first band in high school. Springfield joined the teenybopper band Zoot in 1968, which was one of the most popular bands in Australia until 1971. After Zoot broke up, he started a solo career and scored his first Top 20 hit in the United States in 1972 with Speak to The Sky. His musical popularity peaked in the early and mid 1980s. Springfield is also an actor with over 30 movies and TV shows to his credit. He's probably best known as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital, but science-fiction fans may recognize him as Lt. Zac, the son of Commander Adama who was killed in the pilot episode of the original Battlestar Galactica (1978). Lightly scratched and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
