Signature: "Ridgeway Callow", 5x3 card. Below signature is a typed list of 8 of his major film credits as assistant director. Ridgeway "Reggie" Callow (1901-1981) was a one of Hollywood's most valuable and prolific assistant directors, known for handling all the technical aspects of filming while the primary director focused on coaching the actors. When the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia forced relocation of the filming, Callow organized it. He also excelled at nudging temperamental stars into showing up on time, ready to perform. He entered the business with Howard Hughes' Hell's Angels in 1930, and worked with many of the great directors, including Alfred Hitchcock (starting with Rebecca, Hitchcock's first US-made film), John Huston and Robert Wise.
