Autograph note signed: "To Kayo/the best/Rip Torn", 5x3 card. Stage, screen and television actor Rip Torn (1931-2019) was best known for his Emmy-winning role as talk show producer Arthur on The Larry Sanders Show (from 1992). Nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1983 for Cross Creek, Torn made his film debut in 1956 in Baby Doll. His other feature film credits include King of Kings (1961), Sweet Bird of Youth (1962, reprising his Tony Award-nominated stage role), The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Tropic of Cancer (1970), Coma (1978), Heartland (1979), Wonder Boys (2002) and Men in Black (1997) and its sequel, Men in Black II (2002). Torn, who was married to actress Geraldine Page from 1961 until her death in 1987, first appeared with his future wife in the 1959-1960 Broadway production, Sweet Bird of Youth, for which he was nominated for a 1960 Tony Award as Best Featured Actor in a Play and won the 1950 Theatre World Award for his role as Tom, Jr. He has also appeared in numerous made-for-TV movies and guested on TV series. Corners slightly worn and creased. Slightly toned. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
