un-credited roles, LOIS HALL (1926-2006) got her first (and almost her
only) starring role in Daughter of the Jungle (1949). After playing
the Lady of the Lake opposite George Reeves in The Adventures of Sir
Galahad (1949), she settled into the character roles she played for more
than half a century. A frequent TV guest over that time, she wasseen
in everything from The Cisco Kid to Star Trek: the Next Generation
to CSI. She made her last appearance on The Unit the year she
died. Hall was active in the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'i faith. OLIVER
DRAKE (1903-1991), wrote, directed and produced a long list of
Westerns in the 1930s and 1940s. He also acted in one film, Red Blood and
Blue (1925) and composed songs for a number of films. Drake's songs
include "Moon Over Montana", "Sweetheart of the Rio Grande", "Stardust Trail",
"rose of the Prairie" and "Guns and Guitars". In the 1950s and 1960s, Drake
directed TV's Sky King (1951-1962) and Colt .45 (1957-1960)
as well as feature films.
Singer, songwriter and actor JIMMY WAKELY (1914-1982),
Monogram's low-budget answer to Gene Autry, made a number of Westerns for
the studio, but he is best remembered for his collaborations with singer
Margaret Whiting and the Christmas song, "Silver Bells". Wakely, who was
second only to Autry in pop hits, made his debut with his Jimmy Wakely
Trio in the 1939 Roy Rogers' vehicle, Saga of Death Valley. He
made his last films for Monogram in 1949, but was later seen on the big screen
in The Marshal's Daughter (1953), Arrow in the Dust (1954) and
Money, Women and Guns (1959). Wakely, whose songs include "Moon Over
Montana", "The Weary Stranger", "My Heart Has Room for You", "I Don't Care",
"It's a Beautiful Day", "Bouquet of Roses", "Cowtown, U.S.A." and "Rose of the
Prairie", had his compositions featured in a number of feature films from
1942-1998. Edges and corners creased, slightly soiled. Small nicks at top left
