BOB CREMINS
The former Red Sox pitcher runs for reelection as county legislator with this 4x8½ advertisement, signed and inscribed
Inscribed advertisement signed: "To Michael/Best Regards/Bob Cremins," 4x8½. Brief history of Cremin's public service included on verso. Robert Anthony "Bob" Cremins (1906-2004) was an American baseball player and, later, a politician serving Westchester County, New York. As a politician, Cremins served as the County Board of Legislators, Chairman of the External Affairs Committee, and Treasurer of the Community Chest for Westchester County. As a baseball player, Cremins pitched in 4 games for the 1927 Boston Red Sox, all in relief, finishing with a 5.06 earned run average. He did get Babe Ruth out the only time he faced him (in Ruth's record-breaking 60 homer year). He served as a US Army Air Force officer in World War II. Until his death, Cremins was the second oldest living Major League ballplayer. Image lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
